Fabric Manipulation
Pineapple

Hand painted
This project embarks on a creative journey of fabric construction, drawing inspiration from the fascinating middle stage of the pineapple fruit. The unique characteristics of the pineapple at this stage—its stiff, short leaves known as the crown, and the arrangement of 100 to 200 tiny purple flowers resembling a zodiac circle—served as the foundation for innovative textile design.

This project explores the use of colors, textures, and patterns that capture the essence of the pineapple’s growth stage. Several fabric manipulation techniques, such as shibori, stitching, and weaving, were employed to recreate the intricate details of the fruit’s structure. In some instances, a combination of stitching and shibori was applied to add depth and complexity to the fabric.
