The western parts of India have always captivated me with their rich tapestry of textile crafts and exquisite architecture. Gujarat, in particular, stands out with its vibrant colours evident in its dressing styles, cuisine, and festivals. The region of Kachchh, known as the textile hub of Gujarat, is home to a myriad of crafts sustained by communities deeply rooted in their luxurious cultural heritage.
The simplicity of tying fabric to create intricate designs that blossom into a kaleidoscope of colours is truly magical. In this book, I have meticulously captured the history and evolution of Bandhani, exploring its transformation from a basic technique of tying fabric to a sophisticated art form. This journey is narrated through the lives and
expertise of two master artisans from Bhuj, renowned for their exceptional skill in this craft.
